ModernSurf.com is a full Macintosh based Web Design Studio. I am located in (Southwest) Fort Myers, Florida on the gulf coast. My goal is to become the Official South Florida Virtual Online Magazine and fun useful Portals for your own use with Search Engines & national / local links. I design anything from the complex informative site to the entertaining site full of eye candy. I offer web hosting, promoting and updating of web sites already online that may need a new outlook, and much more. Creating web sites is an art form to me. I feel to get the best look is by using the real thing by way of 35mm or Digital camera pictures. For instance all graphics you see in the Modernsurf.com pages were created in the last year with out the use of clip art. The entire site of Modernsurf.com with all sub directories and pages with pictures, drawings, portraits, illustrations, logo designs, banners, meta tags and page layouts were created by Web Architect J. Nollar.
Web Author/Architect/Artist - Welcome. If you don't know me I go by the name John Nollar in computer land. My real name is Juan or Fish elsewhere. I was born in Waimea on Kauai, Hawaii in 1970. I lived in Taylor Camp a treehouse village on the North shore for the first 6 years of my life (soon you can see Taylor camp on the web). I have lived for at least one year or more on the islands of Kauai & Maui, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, California, Maine and now in Florida. I loved all the places I've been, and some day I'll make it back. I now live in Dean Park the Historic Residential area of Fort Myers, Florida.
If I'm not working I am with my beautiful wife and son J. Makana. I can be seen most often downtown at Style Counsel, Flowers to Fifties (looking for old Hawaiiana), or at the Cigar Bar enjoying a fat stogie. At home I have a huge yard filled with tropical plants, and a pond stocked with Koi. My yard looks and feels like Kauai it's a very peaceful place to have a cup of coffee and think "my little home away from home". We have a few cats and an outdoor walk-in cage for our 2 Iguanas. My life seems so rich.
The first time I fell in love with a computer. My 8th grade Apple Computer class, way back in 1984 at Gulf View Middle School. You were deemed a nerd but I really dug it. High school came next and so did the battle between typing and pottery class. Pottery won my heart for the next 10 years. This became a way to support myself doing commissioned pottery gave me a sense of business appeal. Pottery days were put on the back burner when I had seen the new innovative imac. My love for computing came screaming back. I had to have a G3 Blueberry iMac now time has past and I have a new love, an Indigo iBook. What I want and need next is a 500 MHz dual processor Power Mac G4 "Two Brains Are Better Than One!". Even though I chose the Macintosh platform my sites look great through a Window.
ModernSurf.com- My late nights up typing and figuring out all of the new software was a chore but worth every tired morning. My wife told me I was getting very creative with the computer so I checked out every computer book I could get my hands on. Everything from Mac OS 8 Bible to the latest on Java script. I started to feel comfortable and wanted to play with web designing. Lots of trials and lots of errors. I recently looked back at some older work, and I can tell you 6 months of cramming technical computer jargon has paid off. I am proud to say that I am a web designer and hope you like what I have to offer. I have alot creativity in me. Thank you. ~ J. Nollar

ModernSurf.com - Surfing Made Great

I remember the days when we had no mouse or hard drive and held one or two programs or games, on a 7 inch floppy disk. I'm glad that's over now. For my love of Apple, I still have a Lisa II and a Quadra 950 in our cottage. I don't seem to use them much now due to the blazing speed of the new Power Mac G3 & G4’s. :-) J.Nollar
